Zhang Xiao Han

tea farmer

How long have you been growing tea and what got your started?
I started working with tea three years ago. I was born into a tea family and I love tea. So I too work in tea now.

Can you describe a typical day out in the field?
I go out at 8 to pick the tea leaves in the morning, then I will work in the factory in the afternoon. I finish my job around 4pm, but sometimes I will work late in busy season.

What is your favorite part of growing tea?
I like the withering process. I can see the change from the fresh leaves to dry tea. I like the pleasant smell.

Conversely, what is the hardest part of your job?
I don't like the bad weather such as raining day. Too much moisture cannot make good tea.

Are there any tips you can give on how to best brew your tea?
Please use a glass cup to brew our beautiful silver needle. You can see the needles dancing in the hot water, it is beautiful.
