Wang Chun

tea farmer

How long have you been growing tea and what got your started?
I have worked in tea for more than 55 years. I was born in a tea family. I love tea.

Can you describe a typical day out in the field?
Normally I get up at 7 and go out to the mountains. My main job is to pluck the tea leaves. Sometimes I will help to work in the factory. I finish my job at 5pm in the afternoon.

What is your favorite part of growing tea?
I love the white jasmine smell when scenting. It is very pleasant.

Conversely, what is the hardest part of your job?
It is very hot when scenting the jasmine flower because the best time to do this is in Aug, the hottest season. Normally it is in the midnight.

Are there any tips you can give on how to best brew your tea? Any advice?
Suggest to use a glass cup or glass teapot, you can see the beautiful white flower dancing in the cup like snowflakes. The buds and leaves are very tender. I love it.
